Free Year 12 residential summer schools offer students the opportunity to experience life and study at university.  Successful applicants will be working with current undergraduates and academic staff in lectures and workshops designed to complement and enhance your A level studies.  You will also take part in social activities!  This year Bath are offering 2 summer schools:

Hampshire County Council are looking for enthusiastic and friendly Activity Leaders to assist with activities, workshops and events over the busy school holidays and weekends.

They offer a variety of activities including; arts & crafts, face painting and environmental art. As well as workshops including; pond dipping, minibeast hunting and orienteering , plus events such as; Easter, Halloween and Christmas.

You will assist with running the holiday activities alongside the Education Team and volunteers. This includes being an information point for Visitors, prepping resources, delivering activities, cash handling and dressing up for events!

In addition to the activities there maybe times you’ll be asked to assist in our Visitor Centre. This involves covering the reception desk and answer questions from the public, issuing season tickets, taking bookings for events and barbecues both by telephone and in person.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm with the willingness to have a go at anything, basic ICT skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Holding a full driving licence would be an advantage.

They ask for a min commitment of 4 days per week (including weekends) during school holidays.  This post is subject to a criminal records check.

Exciting Summer Opportunity 2016

NCS are looking to recruit assistant leaders for our summer National Citizen Service programme.
Pay scales start from £100 per week, with food & accommodation covered for the first 2 weeks. They looking for students aged 18 and over.
 
This provides an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience working with young people, develop leadership qualities and paid voluntary hours; which in turn will enhance your CV’s, may increase knowledge for specific course and enhance university applications.
Pay scales start from £100 per week, with food & accommodation covered for the first 2 weeks.
NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government funded scheme for 15-17 year olds (school leavers or the first year of college). The programme is also available to adults between the age of 18 and 25 with a special need. The National Citizen Service is a 4 week summer programme based around 3 phases: 
 
WEEK 1: Phase 1 – Team challenge (Away residential including surfing, coasteering, team building, high ropes etc) Food & accommodation paid for.
WEEK 2: Phase 2 – Personal challenge (Home residential week including a variety of workshops) Food & accommodation paid for.
WEEK 3: Phase 3 – The real challenge (Planning of community/charity project)
WEEK 4: Phase 3 – The real challenge (Delivery of community/charity project)
